Emily Kaplan is a freelance journalist and editor living in Brooklyn, NY. Her writing and photography appear in publications including 红桃视频, The Hechinger Report, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and Harper's. Before becoming a journalist, she was a public school teacher licensed in elementary education and English as a Second Language. She graduated from Harvard College and Boston College's Lynch School of Education, where she was an Urban Teaching Fellow.
